Dear Devotees,
Please accept my obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I am writing to invite you to a couple’s workshop. This is not just another couple’s workshop. Why? Because my wife, Jahnava devi, a marriage counselor/relationship coach by profession, has been trained in marriage counseling by a world-renowned company that bases its teachings on four decades of couple’s research (they personally did the research with thousands of couples). The research clearly demonstrates why couples fail and why they succeed. What they discovered is, I believe, essentially important to understand in order to create a marriage that works– and thus a marriage that lasts.
It’s not wise to leave having a good relationship to luck or chance, or to think that just because we like one another, or have some things in common, the relationship will go well. It doesn’t work that way. Nice devotees come together as a couple, yet due to a lack of relationship knowledge they often have problems that could have been avoided had they been better educated in the principles and practices we’ll be sharing with you. The point is that a good relationship is not a great mystery. It is just a matter of clearly knowing the principles that govern good male/female relationships.
Whether you are engaged, a newlywed, have been married for decades, or are in any committed relationship, this workshop will teach you how to avoid the pitfalls of relationship disaster and give you tools to become a relationship master. You will learn insights and practical tools that will immediately improve your relationship and give you a fresh focus for creating a happy, fulfilling relationship.
(Message to guys: If your wife or partner wants to do this workshop, don’t say no. It sends a message to her that you think the relationship is fine or that you are not interested in improving it. Guys, women generally do not think the relationship is as good as you do. And if you show no interest in doing a workshop on marriage when they want to do it, that’s really bad for the relationship. Plus, if you are like most other men, you are likely not a relationship expert. So invest some time in learning how to be a better husband and I guarantee you’ll reap multiple benefits – and also have a good time at the workshop.)
I can guarantee that you will learn things, maybe many things, that will make a noticeable improvement in your relationship. But even if you only learn one thing to help your relationship, it would be worth it, because the principles and tools we offer are so powerful, that even applying just one of them will make a significant difference in your marriage.
Invest in your relationship; and a couple’s workshop is one of the best ways to make this investment. Personally, I feel like we owe it to our partners to attend a workshop that can improve our relationship. I am sure if you attend this workshop, you will be very happy you did so.
I hope to see you at the workshop.
Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada,
Mahatma das
