Kabe Habe Bolo
Kabe Habe Bolo
When oh when will that day be mine
When all offences ceasing, real taste increasing
For chanting the pure holy names divine.
Feeling myself lowly, respecting all around me,
When in my heart will your mercy shine?
When oh when will that day be mine?
Followers and money, pleasures of this body
Seemingly lasting but what are they worth.
Give me pure devotion, oh Gaura Hari.
Please let me worship you birth after birth.
When oh when will that day be mine?
When chanting Krsna in deep devotion,
Ecstasy, trembling and pallor (power?) arise.
Body thrilled in rapture, feeling pure emotion,
Rivers of tears will flow from my eyes.
When oh when will that day be mine?
When in Nabavipa on the banks of the Ganges
Will I run and dance and sing like mad?
Oh Nityananda, Oh Gaura Hari,
There’s nothing but Your lotus feet to be had.
When oh when will that day be mine?
When will Nityananda giving me his mercy,
Save me from drowning in worldliness?
When will Nityananda, His lotus feet my shelter,
Allow me to enter the Name’s marketplace?
When oh when will that day be mine?
Becoming stunned in wonder I will buy or plunder
The nectarean mellows of the name of Hari.
Taking as my refuge the feet of pure devotees,
I’ll be immersed in the Names nectar sweet.
When oh when will that day be mine?
When will I start out in a meek and humble fashion
Preaching Gauranga’s pure message my goal?
When will there awaken the feeling of compassion
Deep in my heart for all fallen souls?
When oh when will that day be mine?
