Get Off the Couch
A letter to a devotee battling with a lack of willpower.
How you feel is a perfect setup for failure.
You are too negative to succeed.
The only one who fails is the one who gives up. Sounds like you have lost hope.
Never give up.
You create your reality. Do you realize you are full of negativity and guilt, even blaming Krsna for your failures?
It is not His fault.
Anyone who thought like you would also feel bad.
And your circumstances do not have to dictate your feelings and your thoughts. You can choose to oppose your circumstances.
So what would you like your life to look like?
Write it down.
Now write down a few things you can start doing today to get closer to that lifestyle or those goals and then do them.
Write down a few more things tomorrow, and then do them. Guess what? Krsna will help you.
Krsna is not helping you enough now because you are not helping yourself enough now.
Be positive about the future. Visualize and dream about how your life can be.
Dream about being pure. Serving more. Following better.
Be more kind to yourself.
Be patient with yourself.
Most importantly, appreciate the good you have right now, the blessings you already have. Because if you focus on those blessings, you will get more. If you focus on what’s wrong, more wrong will come.
Do not ever think for a moment that you do not have the power to change your life, make new decisions, get off the couch, or do anything you set your mind to doing.
Pray as if everything depends on Krsna, but act as if everything depends on you.
